Pitch Raise & Correction in Arvada, CO
Bringing badly flat pianos back to standard concert pitch safely.
What this service involves
When a piano has gone years without service it can sit a semitone or more below pitch. Pulling twenty tons of combined string tension back in one pass will not hold, so we perform a rough overpull first, let the instrument settle, then complete a fine tuning. Pianos more than 30 cents flat almost always need this two-stage approach.
Work is carried out in your home wherever possible. Jobs that need the bench — action rebuilding, keytop replacement, refinishing — are handled at our Arvada workshop with the instrument returned when complete.
Typical signs you need it
- The piano no longer sounds right against other instruments or recordings
- Notes are uneven in touch, tone or volume
- Something buzzes, sticks or fails to sound
- It has been more than a year since the last service visit
